"commentText": "Only problem with this "article" is that is filled with inaccurate statements. Ms. Deguis birth certificate was invalidated because she was declared with a "ficha". That is an id card from the sugarcane mill where her parent worked. According to Dominican law (also Hatian law) you need a valid government issued ID in order to go to the civil registrar and declared a child. It does not state that you need a Dominican ID but a government issued ID. I don't think that in the US or anywhere else in the world you could go to Kinko's print an ID and go to the civil registrar and do any kind of business with a person who has not been legally identified.\r\nThese were born in the Bahamas of illegal immigrants and if the migrate to the US and commit an offense after their Jail time the US deports them to Haiti even thought they've never been to Haiti, do not speak the language and do not have or know family in Haiti.\r\nhttp://www.namnewsnetwork.org/v3/read.php?id=MjM5MzQ4",

That doesn't mean tourist, diplomats, people in transit or migrant workers, who even though are legally in the country are not immigrants. ",

What ever it was saying that french and spanish divided the island is a reason for them not to grant citizenship if you were born there shows how idiotic you are. If you were a dominican giving birth in the united states and your baby cant be granted u.s citizenship youre basically just a slave. Because what D.R is doing is basically what American practiced in 1700s. Its 2014 people. Lets not over look the obvious dominicans and haitians are both the same people they are not different at all...dominicans are realizing that the growth in haitians and haitian decent are doing way better in the education system than there locals so they want to put up a barrier. Im a haitian born in the u.s and i went to a high school with 80% dominicans in the city they were all immigrants not born in u.s and they were not the brightest and seeked help from haitians ESL students in math.... i know whatever D.R is planning wont last and it will hurt them more than haitians",

"commentText": "You really are not making any sense here; "vested interest has no color" is an emotional argument that has no value in this context. I'm Dominican and I've been following this issue since the ruling came out last year. I actually read it and know as much as I can about this case. Legally, Ms. Deguis is NOT a Dominican citizen, but as a matter of justice I think she's as Dominican as I am. \r\n\r\nBut the Dominican government and courts has a responsibility to ensure that the law is followed, which doesn't happen a lot in my country. The current government is working on a process that will allow Ms. Deguis and others in her situation to come out of the legal limbo in which they find themselves through no fault of their own. \r\n\r\nShe doesn't want to go through that process as she feels that she's Dominican already and although I understand her predicament I also understand that to accept her request would set an awful precedent that you can break the law and if you are patient you will be rewarded. Again, I understand...she did not break the law (her parents and the people that employed them...probably part of the government) broke it and put her in this situation and is up to the current government to deal with this difficult situation.\r\n\r\nBut please, leave you "color" pronouncement out of this and let just look at the whole issue... this is bigger than just one person.",

And likely, it is being set up to be just that by the Powers That Be. Let the blind slaughter the blind until millions are killed, then the the New World Order can be instituted-one world, one govt., one currency, one leader. We are being led to the slaughter through our own ignorance. ",
