"commentText": "The fact of the matter is, in 1920 (Ratified 1922) the League of Nations by unanimous vote legally allocated 100% of Mandatory Palestine to the Jews. When Britain, perhaps illegaly, severed 77% of that allocation and handed it to its puppets the Hashemites, the League issued a proclomation; Jews were guaranteed 100% of the remaining territory, everything west of the Jordan River. Moreover, Jews had the legal right to live anywhere they chose in that remaining 23% of the territorial allocation.
In 1948 Jordan jointly initiated a War of Aggression with fellow Arab States against Israel. When the dust settled in 1949 Jordan was Occupying most of Judaea and Samaria. It then illegaly annexed this land, a move only ever recognised by its puppetmaster Britain and fellow British puppet Pakistan.
In 1967 Israel proactively attacked Egypt and Syria. When Jordan foolishly entered the war on its own accord Israel defeated it and liberated said territory.
So then, does any rational and knowledgable adult actually imagine that a 19-year illegal presence by Jordan somehow converted Judaea and Samaria into \"Arab land?\" Palestinians havent a legal right to even an iota of territory. Moreover, they have never ever enjoyed sovereignity in any form, much less as a nation named \"Palestine.\"
The idea that Israel's presence in Judaea and Samaria is illegal is absurd. Ignoring that the League legally allocated the lot of it to Israel, a disputed territory that has never existed under any extant polity is at best Terra Nullius. A presence within Terrae Nullius can never, ever be illegal.
Lastly, Palestinians themselves agreed that Israel's presence in Area C and Sector H2 in Hebron- including so called \"Settlenents\"- was a Final Status issue. Trying to circumvent bilateral negotiations is never going to work, not for the Palestinians and absolutely not for the UN. I suggest that it take a wee look at its own Charter, specifically Article 81.
Legality and illegality can only ever be decided by courts of law, not by media outlets and not by hypocritical world bodies who violated their own charter ad naseum. As of today Israel has never even been charged in a court of law, much less tried and judged. The closest to that to have ever occurred would be the 2004 Advisory Opinion by the ICJ. However, Advisory Opinions are nothing but Op Eds.
